Spintires - Unmanned Truck + Add-ons

As part of the ongoing Festival of Speed ​​in Goodwood, there was a presentation of new items among working machines. The Swedish company Einride has developed a timber truck equipped with unmanned control, called the T-log. For the time being, the timber truck was brought to the festival as a prototype.

Coordinated work of the working machine is provided by the autonomous NVIDIA Drive 4 level system. The driver’s cab was removed from the car due to uselessness, however, human intervention in the process is still possible – the drone can be controlled remotely. Plus, such a measure allowed to reduce the length of the truck to 7.3 meters, which did not affect its carrying capacity, which also corresponds to the “8th level”. Einride’s CEO emphasized that abandoning the cab would save a lot on production.
