Transport Fever 2 - Standardised Reversing Rules & Force Reverse/No Reverse Dummy Wagons
So, my second attempt at this mod, but I’m pretty sure I’ve cracked it.
Hopefully.
Maybe.
I think.
ANYWAY.
What does this do?This mod allows greater control over whether or not you want your trains to be reversible at the end of lines by doing several things:
1) All powered locomotives are now set to have reversing enabled, and
Effectively, this means you can put any standard train together and it will still function as in vanilla, where it will have reversing disabled and will simply turn around at the end of the line. However, due to the rules governing how reversing enables, having these settings set like this opens up a few options for us. For one, all double-ended trains will automatically reverse, so you don’t need to worry about whether a mod has this set up in advance.
3) Additionally, I have added two invisible dummy vehicles – one with reversing enabled and one with reversing disabled. So if you have a double-ended train (or, for example, a freight train with a second banking locomotive bringing up the rear), you can add the No Reverse dummy wagon and it will force it to turn around at the end of the line rather than reversing.
On the other hand, if you want your train to reverse at the end of the line, but the train isn’t double ended – for example, push-pull operations, or if you want to use an unpowered carriage for reversing, then just add one of the Force Reverse wagons to the end, and it will force it to reverse.
As this is a script, it should set all wagons, locomotives and carriages to a single, standardised ruleset that should make it easier for you to set up your trains without worrying whether or not a specific mod will prevent you from setting up your train to reverse or turn around the way you want it to.
