Transport Fever 2 - Lner U1 Beyer-Garratt 2-8-0+0-8-2
LNER U1 Class 2-8-0+0-8-2 Beyer-Garratt
I must be mad for making another Garratt. I literally blame Coronavirus-related lockdowns for this – there’s no way I’d even consider this if I wasn’t trapped at home. >.>
Anyway, this is it. The LNER U1 – the biggest, baddest, most powerful steam engine ever built for the UK. Built solely for banking duties, the U1 was a class of only one engine, and was, by all accounts, something of a pain in the butts.
Luckily in TpF2 we don’t have to deal with crewmen complaining about bad steaming, complicated controls or poor pay. But on the other hand we also don’t have to worry about banking either, so in the name of making this at least somewhat practical, I’ve bumped the top speed up considerably.
