Transport Fever 2 - Invisible Spacer, Timer and Speed Limit Wagons
What does this do?This mod adds a number of invisible, costless and maintenance-free’ dummy’ vehicles to the game that provide a number of different functions for detailing and operational purposes. These include:
-An invisible engine – use this for detailing freight yards by towing trains of wagons into sidings without a visible locomotive.
-‘Timer’ wagon – with a capacity of 1 of any cargo, you can set up engines to shunt or move about through siding or waypoints and force them to stop and wait to reload – simply set the train to accept cargo that isn’t available at the station, and by using settings like ‘set maximum wait time’ and full load ordering, you can force trains to wait at stations and the like.
-‘Spacer’ wagons for detailing freight yards – add one of these between vehicles and they will create a 50 centimeter or 1, 5, or 10 meter gaps between wagons.
-‘Booster’ Engines – add one of these to a train to give it more power than the locomotive has. Comes in 10, 100 and 1000 increments for both kilowatts and horsepower.
-‘Mothball’ – simply move your trains or carriages into a siding, then add this to the train using the ‘edit train’ function, and it will reduce the maintenance costs significantly. Has a top speed of (as near as makes no difference) zero, so unfortunately this does not work with shunters or any aesthetic moving stock.
-A large number of speed limiting wagons – simply attach these to your train to force it to run at reduced speeds. Available in both KPH and MPH, and set at increments of 10 of both measurements. An added bonus? Your maintenance costs go down when the train is limited to slower than its maximum speed!
These vehicles are all sorted into group menus that will appear at the top of the vehicle list for easy accessibility. Additionally, the Force Reverse/ No reverse wagons from my ‘Standardised Reversing Rules & Force Reverse/No Reverse Dummy Wagons’ mod will merge with the ‘fake wagons’ menu item to reduce overall clutter.
