A small maize dryer will help you to reduce the moisture content of your crop and sell it at higher prices. It is ideal for smaller and medium-sized farms.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS AND COST-EFFECTIVENESS OF THE DRYER?
To dry an entire tank of wet maize (15,000L), the dryer requires 6 hours of operation.
At maximum use (4 cycles), your daily production costs will be a maximum of €2,000.
After drying one tank (due to weight loss) you gain 12,900L of dry maize.

Let’s compare the maximum wet and dry maize prices and the potential profit.
– Wet maize – MAXIMUM 900$ / 1000L
– Dry maize – MAXIMUM 1600$ / 1000L

Assuming you dry 51,600L of maize at maximum daily use, you will be able to earn around €80,560 from it in the best period (after deducting production costs)
Selling wet maize (at 60,000L – no losses) you would have an income in the region of €54,000 in the best sales period.
This shows that drying maize can bring you up to 50% more profit compared to regular maize.
